1. What are the main advantages and disadvantages of a vortex flowmeter?
1. Advantages: (1) The vortex flowmeter has a simple structure and is easy to install and maintain; (2) No movable parts, high reliability; (3) Lightweight and affordable, it is a relatively economical flowmeter. Its basic performance is at a medium to high level, and the purchase cost is lower than that of mass flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters, volumetric flow meters, etc., while the installation, operation, maintenance and other costs are lower than those of differential pressure flow meters, volumetric flow meters, turbine flow meters, etc. If it is only used as a control system detection instrument, dry calibration can also be adopted, which can save the cost of periodic calibration; (4) Strong adaptability, diverse structural forms, capable of measuring various fluid media such as liquids, gases, high-temperature vapors, low-temperature liquids, and partially miscible fluids; (5) Within a certain Reynolds number range, the output frequency signal is not affected by fluid properties (density, viscosity) and composition, that is, the instrument coefficient is only related to the shape and size of the vortex generator and pipeline, and the output signal is proportional to the flow rate. The range width is 10:1~20:1, and the accuracy level is high. Liquids are generally between 0.5 and 1.5 levels, gases are generally between 0.5 and 2 levels, and there is no zero drift; (6) Low pressure loss; (7) Verified in a typical medium and applicable to various media; (8) Dry rolling calibration can be achieved by determining the relationship between the Strouhal number and the geometric parameters of the generating body;
