1. Installation Requirements for Electromagnetic Flow Meter
The installation of electromagnetic flow meters must meet the following requirements to ensure measurement accuracy and stable operation of the equipment:
Firstly, the installation position should be selected as vertical or lowest point. The installation should be prioritized at the lowest point or vertical section of the pipeline to ensure that the measuring tube is always filled with liquid (full tube state). When installed vertically, the direction of water flow should be from bottom to top to avoid flow fluctuations caused by top-down. Avoid interfering with the environment and stay away from strong magnetic field equipment (such as motors and transformers), strong seismic sources, and highly corrosive places. If the process does not allow flow interruption, it is necessary to add a cut-off and flushing cherry valve and a bypass pipeline for maintenance.
Secondly, the straight pipe section requires a length of 5D in the front and 3D in the back (D is the pipe diameter): a straight pipe section with a diameter of 5 times the pipe diameter is required upstream of the sensor, and a straight pipe section with a diameter of 3 times the pipe diameter is required downstream.
. In some scenarios, the upstream straight pipe section can be relaxed to 5D~10D, but it is necessary to ensure fluid stability. Coaxial and full tube requirements: The measuring tube and the process pipeline must be coaxial to avoid tilting or eccentricity. It must run at full capacity, otherwise it will cause measurement values to jump or fail.III. Fourth, installation direction and sequence. The installation direction can be horizontal, vertical, or inclined, but it is necessary to ensure that the measuring tube is always filled with liquid.
. When installed vertically, the direction of water flow must be from bottom to top. The equipment sequence flowmeter should be installed at the rear end of the water pump and cannot be installed on the suction side. The valve should be installed on the downstream side of the flowmeter to avoid interference with the measurement.Fifth, Grounding and Electrical Safety: Independent Grounding: The measuring tube, shell, lead shielding wire, and two end pipelines of the surge sensor must be reliably grounded.
. The grounding wire cannot be shared with other electrical equipment to prevent interference. Electrical isolation should avoid sharing the grounding system with strong interfering equipment such as frequency converters and high-voltage lines. 6、 Maintenance and cleaning: Regularly clean the sensor electrodes. Long term contact with liquids can easily contaminate them. It is recommended to disassemble and clean them every 1-1.5 years to ensure measurement accuracy. The installation location should be easy to maintain and operate, avo
